Dear Honey
After waiting for 4 days we got some more mail. I got 4 letters from you.  no. 74 98 99 100.  You see in nearly every mail I get I usually get one a two old letters.  I think they will finally all be accounted for soon.  Did not write Sunday because I wanted to go to the Y services in town, but was disappointed in a way.  While there I had my first ice cream since in France.  I did not thing that they knew anything about ice cream etc, but I was fooled.  It came high enough, but it tasted mighty good.  After that I walk around town for a while and tried to have my picture taken but you had to line up.  Ever hear that song about lining up?  That all we do in the army, line up for everything we get.  So I did not have it taken, but will try again if I am still here.  I went down to the K.C. hut and they certainly do treat the boys good, everythings free from tobacco chewing gums writing papers and etc and all you want of it.  Quite a different from the Y where you pay cash for it.  Also they (K.C.) fixed their hut up just like a home with great big hot stoves and the walls & ceiling all white. Also electric lights.  Think I will turn K.C. while here, altho the Y has and is doing fine work.  Sunday night I went over to the A.E.F. ware house and saw a movie show called "Sixshooters Annely".  It was very good and I enjoyed it.  Tonight there will be another show and I will be there, you can bet on that.  Everything is for the A.E.F. boys and FREE. Last night was pay day and I had a few franc left from the last pay.  Am trying to save my money in case I do get a furlough and Oh Boy I will have some time(maybe), but I would rather be on my way home.  I am about fifty miles nearer home that I was when at Trendes and maybe when you get this letter I will be another 50 or 100 miles nearer.  Say what kind of dope is Aunt Annies giving you if I had to stay in France for three years I don't think I would live out one year of it let alone three.  You bet she is some kidder alright and I got the same kind of stuff when I was home.
One of our boys got a mouth organ and we have an entertainment of our own every night.  One play the mouth organ and then take two spoons and the other the back of a cigar box.  A queer trio, but it great stuff.  Say you got nothing on me, how do like like my writing paper it about all I ca do to fill up both sides but I will manage to do it this time.  Very good writing paper that you rec'd for xmas.  Gee I would like to know what you got me for Xmas?
Too bad about Roy Dodd and his wife being very sick but hope that they pull thru alright.
Joan of Ark birthplace is about fifteen miles from here and I want to take a trip there soon, was going today but the other boys could not go with me.  Getting good bread these days, for awhile we had bread that was baked hard and I did not like it, but now bread it is OK.  Will close now with all my love & kisses to my little lonesome wife
