APO 747 AEF-France                                                                                          Toul Apr 12 1919 Dear Honey,          Well my vacation is about over and here I am at Foul.  We left Monte Carlo Thur night at ten o'clock arriving in Marseilles about four a.m. Friday morning.  Left there at 5 am traveled thru Lyons Dijon and arrived at Issurtille about seven pm Friday night.  We had a special train all the way and made stops only to change engines.  We have about 1200 men on our train.  At Issurtille we change cars and left there about midnight arriving at Toul 7 a.m.  Have not had my clothes off since...

Dear Honey,  Well this is the last day of my leave here, so I thought I would write to you and also send a few pictures of your soldier boy home.  Gee I wish it was the real thing going instead of just the picture.  I also sent a few souvenirs home in a cigar box, maybe I might get over there before the box does.  I wish I could.  The last few days I have been staying around Monte Carlo, on acct of being broke.no I am not the only one broke why some of the boys had only been here about three days and had twice as much money as I had and were dead broke, I have about ten francs yet out of 225 that I brought with me.  Oh well when I get back to camp I will get paid about (127 franc) beside 38 francs that is owed to me and then I will be ready for another leave, that is if we don't go home soon.  Yesterday I wrote a letter to Laura and one to Grace, sending each of them a picture that leave me ten, so I will send four in this letter and having already sen...

                                                                                 Apr 2 1919 Issurtille France Dear Honey,     Well here me is at Issurtelle an my way to Monaco.  We left Verdun Monday the 31st in the afternoon and arrived here last night.  We slept in the cars the first night and nearly froze, but last night we had a bed in the R.C. and lots of blankets I sure did sleep for I was tired.  We were at Liffole Grand for about ten hours and after switching around for a while we finally got here.  We leave this afternoon for Monaco on a special leave train run by the AEF and then we won't be long in getting there.  Monaco is located between Nice ...
