March 29 1919 Verdun France Dear Honey, Rec'd your letter (38) of Mar 9th from Monesson and glad to get it, also to hear that Grace is getting better. As for my cold it is very much better than in the first of the week. I can talk now where for a few day I was so hoarse and coughing, but that has disappeared. Heard to-day that we go on our furlough Tuesday Apr 1st to Monaco near the southern border of France. Gee but won't I be glad to get a vacation after being over here going on nine months. Talk about the bad weather lately we have been getting more than our share of it. Raining snowing, hailing, and everything else that goes to make the weather miserable also the boys cant go no place for if you do you will get drowned, so we usually stay in the barracks or over at the Y. Well as to recognizing me when I get home, I think you will not see much change in my appearance, only I will have on a O.D. uniform I might be a little fuller in the face,...
