Dear Honey
Well here I be, glad that it is Sat, so that we have a half-day off to rest up.  We walked between sixty and seventy miles this week and I hope we don't go down to that blooming river again but I think we will.  Just got a card from Grace, it had O.R. address on it.  Am not going away today but will work my clothes and go over to the ball game also take a shower bath in Co C. bath-house, which we are allowed to use until ours is ready.  We rec'd 52 more men in our Co. the other day and we have a h--of time getting enough to eat.  Had to go out and buy pie, cake and ice cream several times.  I will want some jellies next week also a few cake a cookies.
12-30 PM  Just had dinner of wieners potatoes, macaroni, bread pudding and coffee.  I had to wait about twenty minutes before I got my share.  Our bath-house just opned now but we have only cold water.  Got back yesterday afternoon from the river soaking wet, had to make a complete change, it started to rain while we were down there.  This morning we had a review of the 4th over on the drill ground with our gun.  We made a fair showing.  Joe Staub father's visiting him today.  Am going to look up Clarence Teekmeyer this afternoon and then go to the games.  I did not rec'd any papers from home but I look for them to-night I usually get them on Thursday.
6 P.M.  Was over to see C Teekmeyer but he had gone to Washington, so I went to the ball-games.  I did not stay long as the wind was chilly and blowing about 50 miles an hour.
7 P.M. Had supper and mail-call but no mail.  Gee but it is getting cold enough for an overcoat.  I think I will sleep with my clothes on, like I did the other night when I heard we were going to be routed out of bed in the middle of the night but it did not happen.  Say Hilda send a small brush to use when I take a bath you know the kind.  The wash-board was working overtime this afternoon the other boy were using it.  It came in very handy.  I was going to take a bath but it too chilly will put it off until Sunday.  I feel so dirty that I am afraid I will catch a cold after the dirt is off me.  Well that is all for tonight.  Will write more on Sunday.
                                            With love to all
