Dear Honey,
Just a few words to let you know I am well but wish I was home.  The longer I stay over here, the more homesick I get.  Wednesday I was in Verdun in the afternoon.  I wrote a letter to you from the Y and also had my check cashed.  I cam back to camp ate supper and in the evening went back to Verdun and seen a show put on by a Y.Y. stock co. It was a fairly good show and they had four HONEST TO GOODNESS American girls in it.  They are going to be here for a week.  I did not go last night as I was tired, but I went over to the other Y and head a Chinaman speak.  He was a fine talker, no wonder he was educated at Yale Uni and travel thru every state in the Union but Florida.  I shook hand with him and he asked me where I was from.  I told him and he said he stard out on Highland Ave while in Pittsburg.  He sure is a smart think and also he was traveling around up the Y.  Well in a few days we will be in barracks after having lived and cooked in box cars since Jan first.  When we get in barracks we will have electric lights.  That is something new to me in France.  All this time I have been cooking by candlelight which is a nuisance.  The weather today is like spring but I want to rest up a bit and maybe I will take in the show to-night.  Well honey that about all for this time.  So will stop now and send my darling wife all my love&kisses from Her soldier

PS  You remember the promise I made to you the day I left.  I have been faithful to it and will be faithful to it.  We got some big hot plates this am and now will served hot cakes for breakfast
