Monday Afternoon
2 P.M. Sept 23-18

Dear Honey,
Another day off and will write a few words to you.  Got up at 8-30 this AM took a walk around the camp trying to find a place to get my shoes repaired but have not succeded yet.  Think I will have to take them to town about six miles away.  Also heard the band in the neighboring camp rehearing this AM.  They have 42 pieces and are very good musicians.  Got my picture last night, but don't like them will send a few home at a time.  Got 12 pictures.  The photographer told me to lean over a little and the picture makes me look round shoulder which is not my right appearance.  When I go to town I will have a good picture taken with my best clothes on and then I hope I will make a better picture.  Am going to get an order for the things I want from  home but don't know whether I can get my butcher kives and army knife over here or not.  I don't remember what wool clothes I left at home but I think I left a scarf wristlet sweater, gloves, socks and my wrist watches if it is repaired.  It is raining this afternoon, so I think I will stick around the barrack until it has quit, then I will walk over to the Y camp for a while.  Am learning the head cook, how to cut meat and he is learning me how to cook fifty-fifty.  When I get home you will be making me do the cooking and keep house while you work, but you had better not because I won't do it (ha-ha).  Well I can think of any more to write about so will quit now and send an ocean of love and kisses to my dear wifey from her Soldier Hubby Clarence.
