My Dear Honey,
Well this is sudden news to me and to you, but we are going to leave for Hoboken N.J.  Thursday night (July12) and we were busy preparing for it have not got my uniform, but will get it to-morrow morning.  I could not imagie why we were so busy preparing to-day until to-night I found out and  I guess by the time you get this letter I will be out of Camp Upton.  My watch stop running to-day and if I  can't get it fixed right away, will send it home and for you to keep it there, I will not carry any watch altho I will miss it.  Have not rec'd any mail from home since I left Camp Humphry, but I hope that the money comes before I go, as I am nearly flat.  Was assigned to CoB. 47th Engr. and to the Royal Squad which I understand is for general guard duty, will get a rifle, bullets, bayonet and hope to account for a few huns with my rifle.  Have not had practice with a rifle yet but will get it over there.  All the boys are very busy to-night writing and sending bundles home.  Don't send me any thing until you hear from me later which I hope will be soon.  Will write Shafer a few words to-night and won't he be surprised when he hear that I will be over there soon.  Well that is all for to-night will write more at Hoboken.  With an ocean of love and kisses to the whole family and that God will take care of them all until I return From your
