Dear Honey
Just got thru with supper now, so I thought I would write. Tomorrow morning I am going over to the town of Lucy to the dentist. It is about a six mile walk and after that I will go to another town called Fuag. It will be an all day walk and I would not have much time to write. Yesterday I got Mae letter and money. Will you thank her for me. I just got one letter and to night more mail came only a few letters but none for me. We go after mail every day but seldom get much. Yesterday am me and the bugler started out for a walk we walk up a long hill to a French Fort and walk a little further on and cam to another fort. It seem that these hills around here are nothing but French forts. We walk still further and cam to the town of Lucy. While there a funeral was going into the catholic church so out of curiosity we went in. It was the first time I was ever in a Catholic church. They have nice churches here, but inside it is to cold for me. Also some of these churches are very old. I got back about three pm. It started to rain after we left and rained all the time we were walking, but I had my leather coat on and did not get very wet. Also while at Lucy I ran across a dentist and there I had my tooth treated. All told we walked about fifteen mile. But tomorrow it will be a longer hike. Will take my lunch with me. Last Sunday was the best day we had for some time. The sun was shining all day and yesterday it started to rain and it has not stopped yet. The last few nights I was down to Frondes to the Y. I usually go there to read as tey have electric light and lot of reading matter.
Things have been very quiet around here and we boys get awful lonesome. If we would only get mail oftener it would soon liven them up as nothing but news from home will liven things here. Well I will stop now and write more on Thursday. Am going to bed early to-night. With lots & lots of love and kisses for my little wife. From her Soldier Hubby, Clarence.
